Yes it does have the trap door buttplate and I think you may be correct about having been either modified with later parts (mounts and safety) or assembled later on with early parts.

I'll have another look but I don't think there are any proof codes under the receiver to date it and I'm not keen on removing the front base from the barrel to see what I can find underneath.

She's certainly proved her worth this year tho with quite a few kills to her credit. As soon as time allows, I'll post some more photos and a list.
