Hi Marrakai,
here is an answer concerning your question of the model:
Mannlicher in Steyr was producing much more military rifles than civilian hunting rifles.When they received an order they produced not only the ordered quantity of actions - every time they produced more.
The overproduction they used for spezial orders like gifts for officer or well known hunters.
On that rare rifles original produced in Steyr at that time you will find only "STEYR and the YEAR" as you can see on my old 6,5x53 R rifle.
