Question to those in the know:

How does one remove the white spacers from a M-S?

I unscrewed the buttplate, and it seems the white spacer is integral with or glued to the black buttplate.

On other guns I have been able simply to remove the spacer as it is separate, and it comes right out from between the buttplate and grip cap without issue.

Guess I ought to stick with double rifles!!!

Any suggestions?
