If one had a Mannlicher rifle model 1910 take down model, and one did not have the take-down pin anymore, how much of a problem is this? I mean, it didnt really seem to do much, I can't see it being part of the "bedding" of the rifle: Can I shoot it without the pin? |

I have one with a replacement pin made from a small threaded bolt. Probably wouldn't shoot it without any forward fixing at all; the cartridge has recoil! No matter how good the bedding is, recoil will act to lift the barreled action out of the bedding unless snugly retained, imho. OaBTW I am on the hunt for a correct takedown pin of course! ![]() |

Your probably right. ITs still a bit of a mystery how it all stays together without action screws. I will fit something in there... |
