M-S 1950 Carbine

She should be on her way to me shortly! The first thing will be to sell the Leupold with the 50mm objective and replace it with a Leopold 6x42. I also need to find the correct sling yoke for the front.

Still better!

I think the yokes that Ruger put on its Mannlicher stocked rifles are still available and probably could be adapted. I bought one for my BRNO 21F not long ago.

Re: M-S 1950 Carbine

I was just looking in the Midway catalog and in their stock finishing section under non-detachable sling swivels by NECG a Mannlicher-Style which happens to be the one pictured and it looks like a perfect fit so I ordered it

Re: M-S 1950 Carbine

Have to say that those mounts in yours rifle pacecar looks quite clumsy. Iīm sure they work very well but their outfit donīt settle anyway to M-S`s nice and smooth lines. Recknagel do much more sophisticated mounts to M-S so go and look them closely:

Re: M-S 1950 Carbine

Model 1950 caliber 6.5x54 has 0822.50 on barrel so it's the 822 rifle made in 1950. It has never had a scope mounted on it.

Bagboy, very nice. Are you going to mount a scope or leave it as is ?

Re: M-S 1950 Carbine

Thanks,
I'm not going to put a scope on it, it's made it this long without one I guess I'll just leave it alone. I really like the idea of using open sights on this short carbine.

Everyone who posted in this thread with their rifles - Nice! Thanks for showing us. I'm just taking an interest in Mannlicher Schoenaurs so it's great seeing more.

Cheers,
Ash.

Re: M-S 1950 Carbine

I really like these stutzen rifles, they are just the business. I had a M1903 for a few years, then stupidly sold it in 1991 to buy a more modern Steyr Mannlicher Mod. L stutzen .243Win.
If I ever come across another decent one in the UK I'll probably buy it!
They are such a delightful rifle.

Now I have a M1903 'Takedown' that's never been scoped...so, do I or don't I scope it??
Dilemma dilemma!
