Zaitsev, Peter, sorry for sidestepping the original post, but do you think that an original 98 DWM system (with thumbhole, from around 1935)is strong enough for containing a .358 Norma? (The Schulz&Larsen homepage does not show an importing dealer for germany) I have aquired a shot out .264 Winchester rifle with this 98 system and a really beautiful walnut stock. For accomodating the .264 Win. Mag., the bolt face was opened of course to the .375 H&H case size , so I have to stick to this size. Possibilities in cartridge selection would be the 7mm Weatherby (I like the long neck) or the .358 Norma. For a .358 Norma I would attach a 58cm (ca. 23") barrel for quick handling, then it should be a good rifle for swedish moose in timber/woodland. All comments will be gladly appreciated! regards Rolf |
