How do you intend to use that barrel rib? On those old Suhl made half – octagonal barrels the rib is not soldered on, but an integral part of the barrel proper, machined from the same piece of steel. The only way for transferring it to another barrel I can imagine: Mill all the barrel off the old rib! Only then it may be soldered on another barrel.
