I had a set of the original style Weaver rings in 26mm in which I had a 26mm Kahles scope mounted. I see these available 2nd hand on occasion under the firearms section of our national auction site TradeMe. Problem with the original Weaver rings that have the band of steel for the top half of the ring is that they cannot be opened up from 1" to 26mm like many other rings can be. I think Weaver only produced the 26mm ring in 'low' which was probably the lowest ring (1" or 26mm") you could get of any brand, only about 2-3mm rise in height above the top of the base to the underside of the scope tube when sitting in the rings.
