Even, I'll keep an eye out for the Meinertzhagen book. An interesting man indeed, from what I've read I'm not sure if he was a hero or a psychopath. Of the books in the picture I would heartily recommend the Deneys Reitz Trilogy (originally published as three books: Commando [Boer War], Trekking On [WW I] and No Outspan [political life to WW II]) and A Rifleman Went to War by McBride. And once again, if you haven't read Jock of the Bushveldt, well I promise you won't be disappointed. |
