Thank you, sir...I wondered about that book, and now I know. I believe I will pass on it, and defer to your good judgement!

I read Capstick's "Warrior" first, and yes...not up to the standards of his first few books, by any means. Then again, I believe he didn't complete it before passing, and his writing went way downhill in later years.

I found Richard Meinertzhagen interesting enough as a person, though, that when I was in a good used bookstore, and found Brian Garfield's "The Meinertzhagen Mystery", I had to pick it up.

It was an interesting read. Mainly for the complete contrast with Capstick's hero worship. According to Mr. Garfield, old Richard was quite the scoundrel. How much I believe, I don't know. Perhaps it depends on the book you read first...

One thing about it, good man, bad man, or somewhere in the middle, Richard Meinertzhagen was a fascinating character.
