thanks all for your replies. The reason I'm after this info is that I have a Lee Speed at customs from an overseas auction that was listed as pre 1900. Customs now what me to prove its pre 1900 and if I can't, the safety will need to be marked to show when the safety is in the FIRE position. Its just that i prefer to leave a nice old rifle in its original form if I can. A photo of the rifle will be a bit hard to get and show but the rifle is 303 cal, safety on bolt striker, dust cover, magazine cut off, bolt with flat to knob and is of the No 2 pattern. Ron |
