I'll add the .300 Savage, .30-40 and .35 Remington and 6.5x55 to the pile of meat-makers there.

All have that sweet little something called "shootability", especially if the "9.3" cited is the x57 version.

At any rate, all of them can be learned very quickly by young and old, and real life field shooting skill acquired. I'm watching more and more fellows shoot the Ultramag-type rounds and I am not impressed.

Great ROUNDS, but not mated to the average human being very well.

A curious commonality of the rounds cited is that they were developed hard on the heels of the "perfection" of cartridge Black Powder rounds, most of which, for man- or game killing kicked like a mule with a serviceberry branch shoved up its arse.

So the military engineer types spun out cartridges with similar recoil levels???

Not on your life.

They gave us some of the easiest-shooting big-game-compatible rounds ever made and the .303 is right there among them.
