Ha, blackberry wine indeed. I keep those for visiting Americans from Washington state. Made from some of the oldest vines in existence in the world today. Minimum of eigthty years to over a hundred year old vines. The Barossa Valley in Australia has the oldest vines in the world some being close to 150 years old, the Barossa never having had a phylloxera outbreak which decimated the vineyards of most of the world in the late 1800's and since. Unfortunately that is not "my" wine but one of two bottles I sent to JB in thanks for an excellent and unexpected bottle of wine arriving in my post earlier. |
