In Australia we usually use the Douglas score system which is a system created in and used a lot in Australia, NZ and the South Pacific. 200 or more points using the Douglas score system is usually regarded as the start of a good trophy. I do not know the SCI system. One day I will have to attend a scorers course. But I don't know the scores of any of my wall hangers either, I hunt for fun but don't mind taking something nice. That fallow buck is very nice trophy. If I chanced upon him in the wild he would be on my wall too. The first photo shows the antlers have a good amount of weight. It is also very even. The palms in the second photo are full and un-clefted and the palms nice and wide. The whole head is resonably wide. No doubt under the DS system he is well over 200 points and a nice trophy. And if he took sixty hunting days to take, he is well earned and a true hunting trophy to boot. Displayed on the wall with pride I think. ![]() The rifle used is certainly one un-expected for Denmark. Maybe usually used on driven boar perhaps?! |
