What do you think about these whale stranding incidents? You know, a whale or a pod of whales beach themselves on some shore somewhere and every d*ckhead with a plastic spade and bucket runs there to sponge down the poor mammals and try to push them back into the sea. Sometimes succeeding until the whale just beaches itself again. On occasion they even use helicopters to assist and spend quite considerable dollars to "rescue" doomed whales. Instead I see these occasions as the ideal venue for a good blubber fry up BBQ on the beach and a party. Imagine primitive man, a hunter and gatherer, looking for tiny mussels and shellfish and along comes many tonnes of free flesh. Happy days! The conservation funds could be spent on real conservation where it counts instead of whales, often the more numerous species, where their deaths mean absolutely nothing to the species. Anyone know what whale meat tastes like ? |
