Thanks Rolf for also answering. Maybe the original poster will see the two excellent answers and thank you two guys. I still can see in my memory boars in Northern Italy on a mountain above Florence where we stayed in a "hunting hotel". Actually a hotel specialising in training gun dogs. I went for a walk around dusk and those large dark blackish "tanks" came out on the mountain tracks and grassy fields among the forest trees. Two dark for photography. But can still enjoy the minds eye memory. Elsewhere in Europe as well, but I'm forgetting where and when. In the French St Hubertus forest, wild boar in captive high fenced paddocks. Boar and roe deer, such common hunting beasts for the European hunter or jaeger, but still on my bucket list of trophies and especially experiences. I'm jealous of the Euro hunters and their "hundred" roebuck skullcap mounts on the wall, or dozens of boar tusks on wooded shields. What is common for one man in one place, may be exotic to another elsewhere. |
