Brown bear reinstated in Romania, Great News. After another bear attack tragedy.

BROWN BEAR HUNTING IN ROMANIA REINSTATED ! We won but only after years of enormous tragedies. In the light of recent events where a brown bear dragged a 19 years old girl off a hiking trails into a ravine, eating her alive, while the enraged hunter who shot the bear consuming the woman was prosecuted by law, sparking and outcry with people and media revolting vocally. In a emergency swift rwapomse under pressure, the Romanian government had no choice but finally to give up the ban. Almost 500 permits have been issued and the total ban on brown bear hunting instated in 2016 has at last been overturned. The government has conservatively estimated the brown bear population at around 8000 subject to much debate, with animal rights activists estimates at only 4000, while the hunters and forestry rangers often estimate the numbers to be at over 10 000. The Parliament voted the reintroduction of bear hunting with an overwhelming majority of 214 votes pro, 7 against and 23 abstaining.
