Seal hunting at Finnish gulf

Yesterday morning me and my old friend took his boat and Tikka .308 rifle and drove to see if there would be any seal at the outermost rock of that coastal area. And there really was ! At first when we still were quite far away we saw one very light grey seal on the skerry. When gettin nearer we noticed that it was very huge grey seal, probably weight 300 kg. It desappered very fast but there was two smaller ones too who were very curious and staying near the rock diving and coming up again. At first my friend tried to shoot on boat but despite allmost calm water it doesnīt work. So then we drove to skerry. First I jumped there with boats painter and then my friend with rifle. When the seal next time comes up he immediately shot and bingo! It hits ! Seal stays floating so we jumped very fast back to boat and then going to fetch it. When reaching as much I could I got a grip of seals fore swim fin but it was so heavy that I just canīt alone lift it up. So my friend helped me and with two mens strenght it finaly arose in boat. It was quite small, weight approx. 60 kg. Then we drove back to harbour and I skinned the animal. Now I have one not-so-good-quality raw seal skin and some kilos of seals fat. Itīs very good raw material for making leather grease. The only thing which be missing are photos.
