Up here in Norway we have several types of birds that are hunted. Ptarmigan up in the mountains, mainly above the treeline, together with woodcock and Capercallie which are found in the forests up to areas bordering the treeline are a few types that people here enjy hunting. Below are some pictures from september 2004: Ptarmigan: A woodcock (with an English Pointer sitting next to me): We find that hunting these birds is mostly walking and not much shooting, but it's still good fun, and one of my favorite types of hunts as I enjoy being high up in the mountains.
