"New record for Norwegian whalers

- So far this year we have got 682 animals, says Arvid Johansen in the Norwegian fishermen's association in Svolvaer to the local newspaper Lofotposten. That is 162 more than at the same time last year

The quota this year is 1286 animals and has been the same since 2010. Norwegian whalers have failed to take the entire quota since the catch was resumed.
The catch on the minke whales start at April 1, but the first boats did not start until May. Whaling Season ends on August 31. In total have 23 whale ships participated in this year's catch."
