I am very happy to meet you all. This pic is puzzling me no end. The website it comes from didn’t exist any longer, a pity, no checking possible. I am not aware of any wild boar over 400 pds shot in France. This animal is weird. It is in summer coat. Nonetheless the head is long and narrow like a sow’s one, but too small compared to the whole body. The snout shows no stop unlike the pig’s snout (or crossing) which have a marked stop (especially the “white large” English pig. The neck is ridiculously feeble and short. A pity the boar is lying on its belly. The chest is too small or the abdomen is too large. It looks like a sausage. A boar has a broad chest and a small behind. A sow is not as muscled in the chest and it’s behind seems heavier. Could be a domesticated fat wild sow but far too large to come from France, or it’s a forged picture. |
