Last Wednesday we hunted about 500 ha of our forests. No, we do not have a real Winter here this year, no snow yet. We hunted with 40 guns, a half dozen beaters and 16 dogs to make the game move. A view from my stand. Not a high seat, but only a cover on the ground. My contribution to success: Two small males, both shot running in high gear, one at 75 meters, the other at a mere 23m. Rifle: My M1910 Mannlicher-Schoenauer in 9.5x57, 270gr Hornady rn @ 2250 fps mv, 20" barrel, Zeiss "Zielvier" scope. Pigs only dragged to the forest road, ready for transportation. Total result of the 2 ½ hour hunt: 23 boar, 7 roe, 2 foxes. |
