Hmm well the gentleman in the Photos is till shooting and he says he used that set up for quite a few years and it's not uncommonly seen on European doubles so where is the problem?

I know the old Steel Khales scope on that Mauser .375 RNE 2 1/4" had very little eye relief one can only assume that the scope in the photo is similar unlike modern scopes. Oh yes I am to be found on the Stalking Directory as well.
