Nice pictures and very interesting info. I'm surprised to see that the roe deer are already in hard horn. Our deer species here are still at basically the start of the horn (antler) growing season, and will be dropping fawns and calves soon. I would have expected to see that more like in the southern hemisphere at this time of year. When do the roe deer drop their fawns? Are the other deer species there, fallow, red, etc early like the roe too, or are they still in velvet like ours here? When do the roe deer rut (breed)? Shed their horns?How long is your huntin season? Sorry for so many questions,interesting little deer though! |
