For all I know this sow was not from french genes poole but imported from Slovenia.
The hunter shot her in self defence, the charging bear dying at about one meter from him. Would have it been some greenie wandering there he would have been shredded to pieces.
Bear in Pyrenees are extinguished and I see no reason to replenish this area with Slovenian bears. Worse Slovenian bears should be manhandled and thus more or less lost their natural fear of the humans. Can I add that each bear cost about 200.000 $ per year, thanks to the numerous greenie association that pretend to study, survey and protect these exogenous unadapted alibis. Pyrenees mountains aren't any longer wild and quiet to harbor demanding genuine wild bears.
