Hunting in Spain

I have been told that hunting in Spain is pretty good. For instance the Ibex there is bigger than those in other countries and also that there is a good partridge population.I am unaware of any other game available but for the Ibex alone it would be worth taking a look.Anybody ever hunted there, sure would like to know the details.

Re: Hunting in Spain

Well, I know is a little bit late to reply but I'm really new here (this is my 1st. post).
I'm from Spain, so I'm hunting here 25 years big & small game. Probably Spain is the best hunting country in Europe, here you can hunt Chamois (2 species), Fallow deer, Roe Deer, Red Stag, Ibex (3 species), Wolves, Mouflon, Catalina Goat, Wild Boars and Aoudad. I mean 13 different animals for one only hunting tryp.
About small game you'll enjoy with thousands of rabbits, doves, ducks, pheasants and red legged partridges.
I hope this lines will help to you to came here for hunting.

470Nitro

Welcome to the NitroExpress Forums.

I have only been to your country once to visit my wife who was working in Madrid for three weeks. I had just got back to London from Africa and she was gone, working in Madrid on assignment. Being between jobs I thought why not go down there for the weekend. Had a French friend who was living in Madrid. I knew her in London before she moved down there and also a friend in Barcelona so spent several days visiting both girls . No hunting or shooting unfortunately.

Anyway I arrived at Madrid airport without a visa so had to wait for a couple of hours while one was organised and was amazed to see several Spanish hunters walking through the arrivals hall carrying their shotguns on slings under their arms. Never seen an airport before where civilians carried firearms openly.

I have read many an article on hunting in Spain and perhaps one day ....

If you have any pictures of those 13 species hunts don't be shy in posting some.

Re: Hunting in Spain

Hello again,

iqbal, hunting in Spain is really easy and not expesive at all. You can hunt partridges from 30€ each and an Ibex or a Wolf (most expensive species) are about 6000€. Take a look to this programs and you'll see. Probably the best way to hunt in Spain is contacting an outfitter, like any other country, they'll guide to you to the best trophy.

NitroX, I was looking for a nice forum to talk about International hunting, and this one seems a nice place to stay.
I'll post those pictures, but I'm sure most of you already knows this species. Anyway here are some....

A 95 cm. Arrui (Aoudad)

A nice Ibex

I'll post some more.

Re: Hunting in Spain

Nice pictures! This is really exciting. My company just bought a house nearby Malaga (30 kilometres east, in Nerja). It's meant for recreation of the employees - perfect!

Do you have some suggestions about the hunting in that area? What and how to hunt, or where I can turn to get to know more? Or maybe even provide me with some contact info?

Great that you found your way to this forum, very welcome!

I don't know anything about roe but that one looks nice. I think your fallow is exceptional with his wide palms!

Re: Hunting in Spain

Hi linda.

Malaga is a very nice place to hunt. You can hunt there the Ronda Ibex (the smallest ibex we have), Mouflons, Red Deers and Fallow Deers. I'm not sure about any other species but I can provide to you a Malaga's hunting company phone number.

Ann, the Roe is not too big. I used to hunt in the south side of Spain where Roes are smaller than others in the north side. Anyway the Fallow is a bronze medal.

Bye.

Re: Hunting in Spain

I'll look into some hunting magazines and I'll send to you all of them.
Meanwhile you can contact with http://www.safariheadlands.com and look if they also hunt in south Spain, I think so, but I'm not sure. They are the biggest hunting company in Spain and they're very serious.

Bye

Re: Hunting in Spain

I have a good friend in Spain, with whom I have hunted successfully for ibex, who is interested in trading hunts internationally. He'll take one out for ibex, in trade for big game hunts of equal value elsewhere in the world. Anyone interested could contact me by email, and I'll try to coordinate.

Re: Hunting in Spain

Aoudad,

"mouflon à manchettes, cuffed moufflon".

The Aoudad is originating from the mountains in Mauritania, Sudan & Chad, exactly the place not to be now. Quite a few lead in the air, acute saturnism almost a certainty.
I knew the Aoudad is bred in Texas (Texas is breeding anything, my kids apart), I ignored it was abundant to the point of being hunted in neighbouring Spain.
I think it's a great opportunity to collect a fairly rare animal. Is it really plentiful?
Ibex too are splendid in Spain, 4 species, correct me if I am wrong?
