I have hunted with a Linebaugh built .475 since 1997. Using bullets in a LBT style LFN construction from water quenched wheel weights. I have killed elk, moose, antelope, black bears, hogs and 1 bison. These bullets weight in at 420 grains using my standard load of H-110 giving me 1320 fps and I have only recovered one from any game animal. On my bison hunt I hit it a little too far back(missed the shoulder) and punched through both lungs and out onto the prairie. on the follow up, I shot the bison quartering away just ahead of the right hip angling forward. The bullet was recovered just inside the skin of the left (broken)shoulder blade. I am in the process of converting my 375 H&H to the 470 Capstick. I will have no fear using hard cast, gas checked bullets. In addition to being deadly they are cheaper.
