this high power would be the right gun to hunt turkey!
Strange, but the law here...allows rifles and pistols for grouse...but NOT for turkey!!
your high power with shoulder stock is a short barrel rifle so must be legal!

That's interesting. Here in B.C., for turkey, air rifle, rimfire or shotguns only.
Isn't a flintlock rifle a rimfire?
flintlock is a stone fire serious? center fire rifles and muzzle loader are nor legal?

I had a look and yes the Browning HiPower seems to have a wooden holster, butt stock, similar to the C96. I wasn't aware of that at all.
The Browning HiPower had a good reputation as a handgun. Why did they stop using it?
Australian Military used it, the SASR often did, and many other countries.
dont know if any high power have the notch for the shoulder stock, pre war FN and canadian Inglis have it. a repro C 96 shoulder stock should fit.
