Considering that you let someone go carte blanche engraving shows enormous trust, yet when they referred to period engraving styles would make it a very special piece in your eyes indeed, especially when both of you have really still retained the aged patina as much as you could.
Marvellous work for your engraver mate, I do hope he get more work in the future.
