My very first handgun was a Ruger Standard Model with a 4-1/2" barrel exactly like the one in the print ad in John's photo. ![]() It was a Christmas gift to me from my parents in 1967 when I was 13. I shot it quite a lot and got pretty good with it. These are good .22 pistols. I'm not interested in the Picatinny rails, though the threaded barrel would be good to have. A red-dot reflex sight is a good thing to have on a .22 pistol, but you don't need anything like a full-length Picatinny rail to mount it. The flashlight under the barrel would serve no purpose for me. I am not a night hunter. Curl |
