I think I recorded this somewhere yesterday. A friend of a Kiwi acquaintance had a Derringer belt buckle. Unlike my own, which brass and hollow, his was real. Flew all around the world wearing it in the pre late 1990s. One story about Thailand. He and friend were drinking in a Thai bar. When the bill came it was thousands of dollars. The two pretty girls chatting to them added a couple of zeros to the alcohol bill. They refused to pay. Two toughs turned up. Mate said "fuck this" and took off his shirt for a brawl. Heavily tattooed, the toughs thought he must be a gangster, as gangsters are very tattooed there and pulled back. The tattoos were the deterrent not the Derringer! |
