My bro still has the Model 17 he bought back in the 70's. We (when hot to trot - like 1980's) used to be able to shoot the sailer out of a Players cigarette package at 20yards, standing 2 handed, of course. We shot it single action. Very accurate revolver, in the day. No reason to think the new ones wouldn't be as accurate. We were both revolver shooters in those days & did a lot of it. As a side note, the Ruger semi-auto with the light weight, 4" bl. in .22LR is a terrific "aerial" shooting handgun. Plinking at hand-thrown targets was easy with that one. It "pointed" perfectly - didn't even have to use the sights. Mind you, that style of shooting was close range - and accomplished one handed. |
