One thing I forgot to suggest was a Thompson Contender with a .22rf barrel. I'm not into single shot pistols, but know several who wear by their T/Cs (and have the rim fire metallic silhouette scores to prove it). It gets back to just what you want from a rim fire. Of course the T/C has the big advantage of interchangeable barrels. A.22LR for one match, a 44 Rem Mag for the next, maybe a 375 JDJ, 45/70 etc. How do the police in South Australia treat multiple barrel handgun systems?
