I wonder if the .25 acp can be loaded a little hotter or otherwise improved by handloading. Also, it would be interesting to know if Super Vel or anyone else ever offered a hot load. What is the strongest pistol offered for the cartridge? My guess, just from the looks of the gun, would be the prewar Mauser pocket pistols. I looked around online a little and there are a few folks who reload the cartridge but none who recommend hotter loads. Also, greater than usual care with powder charges is needed, a tenth of a grain is a lot. I'd rather have a .25 acp than nothing in a bad situation and I wouldn't want to be shot by one. It's an interesting little cartridge. |
