I think the 38 Super is a great round. I had one in the late 60s and 70s, ol=nly trading it for another "must have" that was later traded for something else. There are a number of articles that recommend head spacing the 38S on the mouth and that greatly increases accuracy. Now Lancaster is right in that 9mm ammo is less expensive and available world wide and Glocks (if legal) are an inexpensive shooting iron, no shooting plastic. New 9mm bullets make it a formable round. However, for me, a 1911 in 38S is an iconic pistol & cartridge. The FBI selected the 38S in the early 1930s. |
