Thanks for that DD. I was also sure he used a Highway Patrolman, the M28. I knew he'd tested the M19, but it was small (I thought he said) in his hand. I never did buy a model 19, however did buy a 29, 29 and of course, my duty gun, a model 10 M&P with 5" bl. Interestingly enough(perhaps) when working as a correctional officer and firearms instructor (BC Corrections Branch) , we carried (as necessary) either model 10's with 6" bls. or one of 4 Model 1950 4"bl. (.38/44 Outdoorsman) we also had. That was a gun (one of them) I really liked & shot my first "possible" with in my first training qualification, in Spring 1979 when I started with the outfit. 4 yrs. later, I was an instructor & used a model 10 - "possibles" were easy with them (at least the 2 I smoothed up for Don (the other |Inst.) and I. I also polished the bores with crocus cloth - after that "treatment" then never picked up any lead at all - none, even after 2,000rounds & shot just as well as before the treatment. |
