Im a huge fan of the Freedoms. At one point I had 4 of them. Im down to one now, its a 7 1/2" model. I almost never carry it because its kinda large (even for me), for a back up to a long gun. I drove with it from Maryland to Texas in a crossdraw holster. It was comfortable enough; but still BIG.

I doubt that I'll ever hunt with it as my primary gun, which may have been my original thought (I dont remember). I have hunted with T/C Contenders and Encores; but never the Freedom.

Ive been tempted to have it shortened to 5 1/2" or even 4 5/8" to make carrying more easy and likely. I do occasionally carry SAAs (3 1/2 and 5 1/2) guns. My other SAAs are 45LC, so I dont feel under-gunned outside of Big Bear country.....BUT I keep thinking the 7 1/2" gun is sitting in the safe waiting to be carried???
