Yes - as you rotate the cylinder, butt down.
You can actually get pretty good at that with practice. My bro used a Ruger Super Blackhawk 4 5/8" .44 Mag for the first IPSC match he entered.
They had the 12 shots in 7 seconds routine at 7 yards at that shoot (1975) & he was just barely over the break-even time - something like 7 1/4
seconds. LOL - Young and dexterous with a purpose.
That event was an easy one with my 4" M29, shooting 21gr. 2400 and 275 SWC's. Speed loader, of course.
In RIPP'S first picture the gun in the case shows the left side and the ejector rod spring, rod is inside the coil spring.
