Of course here in Britain (but not Northern Ireland!) we had our pistols confiscated back in 1996. We had to take them to the Police Stations ourselves. Apparently they are all now stored in an underground range in Shropshire, England.
They also confiscated accessories like holsters, but paid compensation. I knew someone who had bought 100 ex-police holsters for £2 each. The compensation people paid him £10 each...
