Looks like Ruger is going to try and poach Freedom Arms territory. I never really understood the reason behind the 480, it's little more than a light special of the 475 Linbaugh. Maybe Ruger just wanted their name on a big bore pistol cartridge? I've got an Alaskan in 454 that was worked over by Bowen Classic Arms, it makes for a very nice carry piece for bear country. A few years ago I tied the S&W 500 in one of their 7.5" Performance Center guns, it was very unpleasant to shoot.
