Well actually the U.S. 100th anniversary for WWI isn't until April 2017, but i didn't want to wait that long. Yes I have several half-moon clips. Actually the first 50,000 (approximately) Model 1917 revolvers made by Colt had chambers so large that without the clips the 45 ACP cartridge would literally fall all the way through the cylinder. The Army had Colt machine in a shoulder in the cylinder chambers so that in a tight situation a soldier could load the 45 cartridges and fire it. The catch is the user will then need to poke out the empty casings with a pencil or something like that. The star extractor won't remove the rimless cartridges of the 45ACP without the clips. So I can fire the it without the clips, but I won't.
