After WWII S&W started marking their handguns "MARCAS REGISTRADAS," Spanish for registered trademark (presumably in response to an influx of Brazilian copies). I'm guessing that this is one of the earliest examples so marked. Is that about right?

Also, weren't the Brazilian guns made on equipment acquired from S&W?
