That's the correct designation. It is "The .44 Hand Ejector 4th Model Military (a.k.a. Model of 1950 .44 Military)" or "pre-Model 21". Of course, when it was made nobody knew it as a "pre-Model 21" because there was no such thing as a Model 21 as S&W didnt use model numbers at the time. Very nice example of a fairly rare revolver.
