Re: 357 Mag load using 200 gn Hornady projectiles.????

how ya goin mate.I have been shooting metallic silhouette handgun for a while now and a lot of us are using 200gn projectiles in 357 mag.Mostly cast lead but some jacketed.I am using a s&w 586,others are using freedom arms.the freedom has a longer cylinder than the smith.Your taurus cylinder might not be long enough. The load i use should be used at own risk and worked up to.I use ADI AR2205 powder, home cast 200gn lead gas checked projectile, small rifle primers,13.5 grs of powder,o.a.l is 1.665 seated into the crimp groove .which gives enough room to be inside the cylinder. You should look up your local I.H.M.S.A branch in WA to talk to some silhouette shooters before loading this to confirm for yourself. You might want to consider buying a smith 586 or 686,freedoms cost a packet and are hard to seperate from their owners.
