This is a myth; cracking was due to a design defect of the early Colt Delta Elite frames, the solution to which was actually simply to mill out the part of the frame that would crack. The 1911 frame is plenty strong for 10mm. My Delta Elite is a pussycat. A 100lb girl can shoot it accurately (I've seen it with my own eyes).
