I envy you the opportunity. Around here, no one is interested in bullseye competition. Years ago when I was living in the Nashville area, the All National Guard Rifle and Pistol Team was headquartered in Nashville, at Berry Field. In addition to a world class armorer's shop, they had a 50 yard outdoor pistol range, a 50 foot smallbore range and an Olympic Rapid Fire Pistol range, so I had plenty of use for my OSP-GSP combination. I got bitten by the OSP bug during my stay in Germany, where one of the clubs I belonged to had a rapid fire setup, in addition to a 50 meter smallbore range with electric target return mechanisms. Unfortunately, some power mad senior officer had the idea of transferring the marksmanship unit to Camp Robinson, AR, where the ranges were never again set up, as far as I know. No more pistol Leg Matches in our area as a result, so my dream of Double Distinguished is just that, a dream. |
