Yes the Rem 51 and the Browning 1910 share similarities. The Browning is a straight blow-back action while the Rem uses a unique locking system of Pedersen design. The Remingtons number only about 65,000. I'm sure the Browning is far more common. Here is an interesting article about the Rem 51.
