Re: Colt Delta Elite--- 10mm info

My wife has one but the gun is unreliable.
It will not go through a magazine without at least 2 jams.
In most cases it fails to feed, but sometimes it will not eject.

Have you changed the springs inside? Have been told the 20lb Wolf springs work really well..or is it a feed ramp issue?

I have 2--one in a Glock SF model 20 and one in a Kimber...both feed and shoot really well..in fact wehn I am in black bear country and traveling in other areas where I might encounter unscrupulous humans, I carry the Glock often...

When I was researching I was told the Colt was more reliable than the Kimber..so find it interesting that you are having feeding/jamming issues and I am not..but I'v only put about 400 rounds through the Kimber..

Re: Colt Delta Elite--- 10mm info

The main drawback of the Colt is the unramped barrel. It can't handle the heavy 10mm loads due to the reduced chamber support. The factory Glock barrels are known for the "smilies" when shooting heavy loads, aftermarket barrels solve this. For 1911 pattern guns the Fusions are nice, ramped barrel and super tight.

Re: Colt Delta Elite--- 10mm info

I did a lot of hand loading for it a couple of years ago. Lately, most of my shooting has been clays. I really like the caliber, it's my go-to woods gun (G20 or G29). The best factory ammo these days seems to be Underwood, I also use the Double Tap 200gr hard cast.

I also picked up some Double Tap..havnt seen the "Underwood" brand you mentioned..

Is the cast o.k. per your findings in the Glock..someone told me it can be an issue ??

Think you mentioned you dont have a factory barrel ?

Re: Colt Delta Elite--- 10mm info

I have Lone Wolf barrels in both Glocks, they provide more chamber support over the factory barrels. The best aftermarket barrels these days seem to be from KKM. Both Lone Wolf and Storm Lake have fallen out of favor. The factory barrel is fine if you don't reload the brass from hot loads. Double Taps reputation has suffered a bit by chrono results not matching the advertised MV. You can check out the Underwood loads here:

Re: Colt Delta Elite--- 10mm info

Wow--it appears they are loaded a bit warm..

as to the chrono results..seems to be the trend lately, read recently where a guy chrono'd some 240 Weatherby factory loads that were over 200fps less than advertised...

Thanks for the info.
