Dougalls Howdah

in the double gun journal volume eight issue 3 autumn 1997 there is a artical called dougalls howdah by ross seyfried on page 113.Anyone have one of these double barrel pistols or know anything about them? Are they legel and why doesnt anyone make them now? That is one nice pistol.A modern double pistol like that in 44magnum or S&W 500 would be the cats meow.Any way to post pictures of that pistol to folks who have never seen one?It truely is a classic and in a class by itself!

Re: Dougalls Howdah

Thats it.Super cool.I bet sercy could build one.I dont know about the laws but i think there is already a double barrel pistol on the market that is 12ga.and is made in copperhill tennesse usa ,it is legal, and cheapand cost like 80.00$.To cheap for me.I cant remember if its a double but i know it is& short, like 12inches long or something. Also a double barrel black powder flint locks in 50caliber or bigger would be a nice one too...........
Its just hard for me to understand why a two shot would be banned instead of a 15shot?Is it me?If it was a pistol cartridge say 44magnum or 500S&W I wonder if it(sxs) would be ok,Maybe a over/under like a 45/70 alaskan Derringer/American Arms is as close as it gets, they are already legel, and afordable and built.
That settles it,45/70 o/u derringer is close enough! Now who will shoot it
