I received the "Green Book" from the good folks at The Versatile Hunting Dog Association in the mail today.

We pick up our puppy this weekend, need to drive 4 hrs each way to get to the breeder, I hope this lil guy likes to go for a ride.... I figure the trip home will be a minimum of 5 hrs with water and wizz stops for the new addition to the family.

Saturday can't get here fast enough for my eldest daughter, she is extra excited about going to pick up her dog!

She now has a short list (about 12) of names but wants to see what the pups personality is before giving him his name.

I will keep you posted, I should mention that in briefly scanning the Green Book I can say that it looks like it is written in a very "common sense" manner and I think it will be a great tool in getting us going in all aspects of training both the handler and dog for home and field.
